This rechargeable LED solar light bulb comes in a pack of two and that's not all, two remote controls and two small solar charging panels. We bought a couple of packs last year when electricity prices were going through the roof and haven't used mains electric lighting ever since, just turning these on from the comfort of an armchair when dusk approaches. Probably not strong enough to read by, but certainly enough in the kitchen to cook with, these are really a nice, affordable piece of kit.
The manufactures state they have a 3-6 hours life with full battery capacity before a recharge is required but we left them on overnight and they were still bright in the morning. Each solar light bulb comes with a handy hook so can be hung from existing light shades and also a 3.5m cable if you choose to use the supplied solar panel which is great during summer but it's just as easy to plug in a normal USB cable and charge them up that way, with a red light showing when charging, turning green when ready to go.
The video above isn't for this actual product but gives an idea of how they work. In the event of a power cut, candles might give off an ambient glow, but if you want or need something to light up your living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or landing, these are a top safe alternative. No risk of fire and no risk of your bank account taking a hit either, coming in at under £20 for two. They aren't water proof, but still ideal for outside parties and certainly in tents. Highly recommended to have a few put aware for emergency situations and to save a few pennies as well!
